12,000 Deaths Per Year

Conservatives want to change the subject from the failures in Iraq to gay marriage or to immigration, or to estate tax, etc. blah blah blah. we'll we ain't gonna play that game. CNN is reporting that the month of May has seen the highest number of civilians killed in Iraq since the war began. Over 1300 Iraqi civilians were killed in May, most execution style. Not even Bush's favorite--suicide bombers--but rather targeted executions. The average per month is 1200 deaths, and apparently increasing by month. Is this the sign of an insurgency in its last throes? Is this the sign of a successful reconstruction of a country? I bet that under American occupation, the death rate is higher among Iraqis than it ever was under Saddam's rule.
